The following tip shows you how you can manually check your hard disk for errors:

1.Go to Start
2.Select "Computer"
3.Right click the drive that you would like to check
4.Select Properties
5.Select the Tools tab
6.Select the "Check Now" button
7.Be sure that both options listed below are checked:

Automatically fix file system errors
Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors
8.Select the Start button
9.When you receive a popup window notifying that you cannot check the disk while in use, select the "Schedule disk check" button. This will schedule the disk check for the next time you restart your computer.

Note: Depending on the size of the disk you are checking, this could take some time to complete.
