What is DashBar ?
DashBar is an Internet Explorer toolbar that extends web browser functionality and can download and install main components of certain adware parasites such as GAIN threat without explicit user consent.The Dashbar Toolbar changes your browser settings to make Dashbar your default search engine. This means that when you search in the URL Address Bar you will receive Dashbar search results, when you click on the "search" button the browser will open a Dashbar search page, and when you navigate to an internet domain that does not exist, Dashbar will display a page to assist you in finding what you are looking for. DashBar will also change your IE Search Assistant and Auto Search settings. One note, when you install DashBar, the EULA clearly states that the product will display popup ads based on your web surfing habits as well as informs you that it will be chaning a number of your Internet Explorer settings and will indicate what settings it will modify. Becuase of its EULA, DashBar has been downsized to not being spyware or a browser hijacker but simply adware. The GAIN AdServer serves you ads (pop-ups, pop-unders, and similar ads) while you surf the web. The GAIN AdServer uses information regarding your online browsing behavior, including the URLs of Web pages visited by subscribers, to determine when to serve you an ad and which ad to serve to you.
