A virus has infected your Windows System Restore file
Hits:34
You tried to use Windows XP's System Restore to revert to your computer's last known good configuration, but the System Restore file appears to be infected with a virus.
As with any other form of backup, WinXP's System Restore protects your data and settings against bad installations better than it protects against a virus. According to McAfee, VirusScan can hunt down viruses even in your System Restore files¡ªit just needs a little help opening the door. You need to disable System Restore and then run VirusScan.
To disable System Restore, right-click the My Computer icon, click Properties, and then choose the System Restore tab in the System Properties window. Check the Turn off System Restore box and then click OK.
For more information about this problem, visit McAfee's Answer Center, choose VirusScan 9 from the Choose A Product Or Topic Below menu, choose Common Issues from the Choose A Category Below menu, and then click Disabling System Restore from the Select An FAQ Below menu.
