IE7 keeps shutting down
Hits:90
Q: I have just upgraded to Vista and have configured my IE7 add-ons like I had them in IE6. IE& doesn't appear to be as stable as IE6 was. How can I keep IE7 from randomly shutting down.

A: There are many add-ons that have a problem running in Vista right now. Until the software developers fix their products this will continue to be a problem. To verify that it is in fact an add-on, please start IE7 without running any add-ons. Here's how:
 Close Internet Explorer 7
 Go to Start>> Programs>> Accessories>> System Tools>> Internet Explorer (no add-ons)
You have now set Internet Explorer 7 to run without the use of any add-ons.
Go ahead and open IE7 and see if your shut down problem is resolved. I suspect it will be. If that solved the problem, you will need to restart IE7 using add-ons, then disable your installed add-ons until the culprit(s) is found. Here's how:

 Close Internet Explorer 7
 Go to Start>> Programs>> Accessories>> System Tools>> Internet Explorer (add-ons)
You have now set Internet Explorer 7 to run without the use of any add-ons.
 Open IE7
Go to Tools>> Internet Options>> Programs tab
 Click the Manage add-ons button
Open the "Show:" dropdown menu and select Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer
You will now see a list of currently installed add-ons. Click the first one to highlight it, then under the "Settings" category, select "Disable".
 Click OK.
Close Internet Explorer and then restart it. If this solves your problem then you have found the culprit. If not, continue disabling the add-ons one by one.
