
Go to Start>> Run. Type in: sfc [Enter]
This will open the System File Checker. Once in there select "Extract one
file from the installation disk" and type vmm32.vxd in the box below. Then hit Start. Depending on your setup, you might need to have your W9x CD available.
<>If this error message appears after installing Windows 98:
This is usually caused by the computer booting the hard drive rather than the CD, you will need to change the boot order in the system BIOS. When it sees the hard drive, it is loading the remnants of a Win9x installation (which point to files that are no longer there).
